For more than 30 years, Education Week has been the most respected voice in education journalism. The CEP is also a D.C. based advocate for public schools. This week, we recognize the power of education and pay tribute to the educators and role models who shape the students of today into the leaders of tomorrow. The week communicates the achievements of public schools, their students and the value of public education.
Schools, share your events and projects. The programs ranged from elaborate and energetic interaction with selected Public Schools to nothing at all. Past students will be invited to each school to share their individual experiences beyond secondary school and their journey to a satisfying career.

That was not always so, for from the beginning of this country until the present day advancing the cause of Public School education has been strongly opposed by parents with powerful political backing who have steadfastly resisted turning their children over to teachers for their moral education.
