Four Jobs That Do Not Require A College Education

The online learning industry has been making waves after studies that most students that are taking online courses performed better than those studying in the traditional schools spread like wild fire. If we are to consider the demerits to the technical schools, here is the whole list: some people look down on the people who attend technical colleges, and these are mostly the college folks, as they consider schooling in the technical college to be less “prestigious”.

Professional experience and industry contacts are increasingly important in HE, so any previous experience you have outside of academia will be useful, especially if applying to work at an institution which is keen to expand on its teaching excellence, student employability and graduate prospects.

There is mounting pressure on university departments to improve the quality of teaching and so there is an increasing trend for departments to encourage academics to study towards a recognised teaching qualification, such as the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in HE (LTHE), early on in their career.

Although there is a clear premium on education — recent reports from The Economist suggest that the ROI of a college degree has never been higher for young people — the value added from a college degree decreases as the number of graduates increases.

A much more effective approach would be to apply directly to every post-secondary academic institution that offers its students an opportunity to earn an online bachelor degree or online master degree by taking instruction over the Internet from their computers.
