Teachers, do you know how to get ready for the new school year and then what to concentrate on that first week? The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), global provider of wine and spirits qualifications, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, organising the first ever global Wine Education Week from September 9-15. The national week brings opportunities to participate in cultural and educational programming here at UC Davis and share your international stories and experiences on social media using #GlobalAggies.
In order to successfully prepare students for the jobs and economy of the future, education must be dynamic and forward‑thinking in its scope and focus. My Administration supports educational freedom by opposing one-size-fits-all Federal regulations, restoring decision-making authority to State and local leaders, and empowering families and students.
In the Winter 2004-05 Occupational Outlook Quarterly, The US Department of Labor reported that “In 2003, workers who had a bachelor’s degree had median weekly earnings of $900, compared with $554 a week for high school graduates-that’s a difference of $346 per week, or a 62 percent jump in median earnings.” These figures are a bold statement that the advantage of a college degree is its increased earning power.
Explain that the share wall is casual because the student of the week is free to share anything from a dozen doodles of a family holiday on a paper napkin to actual photographs of Grandma carving the turkey with a chainsaw. UoP’s stance on online team learning might educate you on more than what you signed up for, too.
This event will highlight current and past School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) graduate students’ experiences learning and researching abroad. These grants will create new, innovative, and personalized ways for students to learn. We look forward to the Congress taking action to approve these privately-funded scholarships and to free millions of students of all ages to learn in new and innovative educational settings, without taking a penny from public schools.
