Philosophy of educationTo fully grasp the concept of philosophy, one must be familiar with its beginnings. Within this learning parameters, students do extensive research, participate in discussions, and deliver various types of outputs based on their learning decisions. In addition, TBA utilizes natural, real-life language contexts that are highly relevant to students.

It remains, nevertheless, that this state of affairs is unfortunate for the health of philosophy of education as an area of philosophical endeavor, and for general philosophy as well. The next section treats issues arising at the intersection of knowledge, curriculum, and educational research.

The Christian educator finds biblical warrant for a wide diversity of educational methods. Each day deepened my knowledge and understanding of the many areas of study within Philosophy of Education, and I found each talk both challenging and rewarding. Sometimes one sees in the school simply the instrument for transferring a certain maximum quantity of knowledge to the growing generation.

While there is some truth in this claim, teachers should be also informed about the different philosophical concepts related to education. The educational ramifications of such a view can be seen in the physical layout of the typical school classroom: desks in neat rows, sometimes even nailed to the floor, teacher at the front, everything in its proper insulated space.

Classes focus on topics such as the role of values in education; philosophies of science and applied science; feminist philosophies and their relevance to education and the human services; 20th-century philosophic movements; and ideas of nature. Within the epistemological frame that focuses on the nature of knowledge and how we come to know, there are four major educational philosophies, each related to one or more of the general or world philosophies just discussed.
