Do you have a child with autism, or a learning disability that has suffered discrimination in school related to their disability? One of its functions is to advise the Minister for Education and Skills on the curriculum and syllabus requirements of students with disabilities or with special educational needs. The response of the children to this intervention then determines whether they are designated as having a learning disability.

If it is determined that your child will not make progress in the regular education classroom, other options can be considered. Children may need services in this area to help them develop appropriate social interaction skills. IEPs require (1) an evaluation by the child’s school; (2) the determination of eligibility; and (3) the development of the IEP by the school’s IEP team.

Special events, field trips, computers, and library materials must be covered and provided to all students. JGW includes a broad range of courses for children in kindergarten through grade 12 and Extended School Year (ESY) services are available during the summer.

Our goal has always been to ensure children on the autism spectrum receive proper support to help them succeed in life. Working with the management will help the special teacher follow the necessary laws and procedure, work with individualized education plan (IEP), and make sure that special children are accommodated in the appropriate classroom.

A special school is a school catering for students who have special educational needs due to learning difficulties , physical disabilities or behavioral problems. These children must “have available” to them a free appropriate public education (FAPE) that emphasizes special education and related services designed to meet their unique needs” 20 U.S.C. sec.
