Public schools and their teachers use many tricks to keep students engrossed in lessons: technology, new books, varying activities, guest speakers. It’s time to live up to the promise of a high-quality public education for every student. As of November 2008, 87 percent of Idaho school districts participated in IDLA, and the program offers a wide range of courses from AP Calculus to Driver Education. At home, there is no peer pressure to try drugs, as there is in public schools.
