Under current Iowa law, schools are allowed to restrain students or confine them in seclusion rooms during violent outbursts. The Board has grown from a group of 309 schools in 1962 to 5119 schools as on 25.9.98, which include 784 kendriya Vidyalayas, 1381 Government Schools, 2486 Independent Schools, 355 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and 13 Adhoc Schools.

At times, you may even have to appear for an interview with the senior school management before you are selected as a teacher. I can still remember when I first became a special education teacher back in the mid-1990s.
